Earlier this morning, Malaysian internet users trying to visit www.google.com.my and www.google.my domains were redirected to a hacker’s website with the message “Google Malaysia STAMPED by PAKISTANI LEETS.
MyNIC Bhd, the sole agency for the .my domains issued a statement on their website confirming there was an unauthorised redirection of www.google.com.my and www.google.my domains to another IP address by a group which called themselves TeaM MADLEETS.
“The problem was alerted in the early morning and MYNIC Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) immediately started to resolve the issue. The domain name www.google.com.my has been restored to their correct information at 7.10 am today and www.google.my is still resolving.
At the moment, we are undertaking all necessary measures to monitor the situation and prevent further related issues,” said MyNIC.
In July, several websites with the ‘.com.my’ and ‘.my’ domains experienced technical issues when it was hacked by a group known as TiGER-M@TE.
Some of the websites affected include Google, Dell, Microsoft, MSN Malaysia, Bing, and Kaspersky.
In March, Google denied its website was hacked following a page calling the Malaysian state of Sabah as “illegitimate”.

Guys, it is not Google Malaysia that has been hacked. It's actually MYNIC, our national registry for domain names. @mynicberhad @GoogleMsia
