The VOC 'pink slip' will replace the Vehicle Registration Card, with implementation in stages from today until Jan 1, 2020.
The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has introduced the Vehicle Ownership Certificate (VOC) 'pink slip' to replace the old Vehicle Registration Cards (RC).
The move to change to the new pink slips will be carried in stages, beginning 1 June, 2016.
The JPJ said that with the implementation of the VOC, it will clear the path to broaden the department's online services, making future transactions easier and faster for the public.
The VOC still contains the details of the owner and their vehicle, but will no longer be used as a document in transactions such as road tax renewal or ownership transfer.
Starting today, vehicle owners will be able to renew their VOC online, instantly allowing them to avoid the long queues at JPJ counters.
