The Ministry of Health (MOH) will present the proposed standard operating procedure (SOP) on the reopening of childcare centres to the National Security Council (MKN) tomorrow.

Director-General of Health, Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the date for the reopening of the centres have not been determined and would be discussed at the joint meeting with the MKN.

“Tomorrow, the SOP will be presented in more detail to the MKN. What we see now is that when it comes to giving flexibility in the economic sector, many parents say they need childcare centres.

“What is important is safety at the centres and we have also improved the sentences, such as the use of isolation changed to priority to the children of frontliners, especially staff of MOH.

“We will also see how to increase the number of childcare centres at hospitals. So far, there are 112 childcare centres at the hospitals and we are applying to increase the centres to all of our 146 hospitals,” he said at a press conference here today.
