MELAKA: The number of flood victims in Melaka has gone up to 669 people from 149 families as at 4pm this evening compared to 554 victims from 128 families at 8 am today.

Melaka Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) director Lt Col Cuthbert John Martin Quadra, in a statement, said all the victims were housed in nine temporary relief centres (PPS).

They included six in Melaka Tengah (487 victims), two PPS in Jasin (133) and one PPS in Alor Gajah (49).

Meanwhile, the number of flood victims evacuated to PPS in Sabah remained at 72 people as of 4 pm, according to a Sabah Disaster Management Committee statement.

It involved 46 victims at the PPS in Dewan DP Mohd Dun Banir, Beaufort and 26 victims housed at the PPS in Rumah Kebudayaan Kalang Kanar, Tenom.
