KUALA LUMPUR: The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah will be granting an audience to Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Pakatan Harapan (PH) leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at 4.30pm on Tuesday.

In a statement by Istana Negara, Comptroller of the Royal Household Datuk Seri Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin said Istana Negara has received information regarding the collaboration of political parties for the formation of a new government after the 15th general elections (GE15) last Saturday.

"However, no single MP had the simple majority to form the government and become Prime Minister," the statement said.

PH won 82 seats in Saturday’s polls while PN won 73 seats, both well short of the simple majority of 112 required in the 222-seat Dewan Rakyat.

BN which obtained 30 seats and was invited to work with both PN and PH, has decided to not support any of the coalitions.
