Newborn's agonising cries from mineral water box

A newborn, with his umbilical cord attached was found abandoned on the eighth floor near Block D of Flora Damansara apartment on Monday.
The baby boy was found by a teenager who heard his cries from a staircase in between the eighth and ninth floor of the apartment.
Petaling Jaya police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zani Che Din said the teenager contacted her mother who was at work before the latter called the police.
“The witness found the mineral water box in between the eighth and ninth floor of the apartment.
Mohd Zani said the baby has been sent to the Sungai Buloh Hospital for further checks and appeared to be in the pink of health.
He also added that the police is conducting checks to identify his mother.
The cloth used to clean the newborn has been retrieved to be analysed.
