Thousands thronged the Tok Guru Mosque in Pulau Melaka to attend the funeral prayer for Nik Aziz today.
PAS spiritual leader Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat was laid to rest this morning at 11am amidst thousands of his supporters at Kampung Pulau Melaka Muslim cemetery.
He had passed away peacefully at his home in Kampung Pulau Melaka, Kota Bharu, Kelantan at 9.40pm Thursday.
Earlier today, funeral prayers were held at 10am at the Tok Guru Mosque in Pulau Melaka, where about 30,000 people were estimated to have attended.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak was among the early ones who attended the PAS leader’s funeral.
PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang, PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali and PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli were among the political leaders who attended the funeral.

The body of Nik Abdul Aziz was laid to rest next to the grave of his father, Nik Mat Raja Banjar.
The PAS leader who was married to Tuan Sabariah Tuan Ishak, was blessed with 10 children consisting of five girls and five boys.

Despite being the Kelantan Menteri Besar for 23 years, the late Nik Abdul Aziz lived a simple life, residing in a wooden kampung home.
He was taken to the Universiti Sains Malaysia hospital (HUSM) in Kubang Kerian on Jan 19 due to prostate cancer.
