LANGKAWI:The Registrar of Societies (RoS) needs to detail out clearly on what the department needs in order to approve the registration of the Parti Pejuang Tanah Air (Pejuang).

Pejuang pro-tem chairman, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said that the party’s sponsorship committee is always open and ready to do whatever is needed to immediately complete the registration process.

He added that his party also hoped that the RoS would immediately stop what it called a 'political game' planned by certain parties to delay or prevent the formation of a party that is not in line with the existing government.

"It's been a long time (RoS) wanting to find the wrong thing. I've met (them) many times, but it's still that there is something that is wrong.

“We are ready (to correct and prepare what is needed), but do not play politics because (YDP) Agong has advised us not to have a lot of politics.

"This is an action (done like) to prevent a party that does not agree with the government from being registered. (It) is a political action," he said when met by the media after a meeting session with Pejuang representatives of the Langkawi Parliamentary in Padang Matsirat, here on Saturday.

On Friday, the RoS through a statement described the allegation by the Pejuang sponsorship committee that the registration of their party was deliberately delayed, as completely baseless.

The RoS explained that the record review until October 29 found that the party's application had not been fully resolved based on the eROSES system.

The department said the party’s sponsorship committee was also reminded to contact the RoS directly to resolve the registration application.
