PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin stressed that the targeted moratorium assistance is still open to the public.

According to him, the government through Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) has so far managed to reduce the burden of 1.4 million affected individual borrowers and small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

“It involves an approval rate of up to 95 per cent.

"I would like to emphasise that this assistance is still open to the public," he said in the Prime Minister's Special Announcement on PEMERKASA here, on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, in strengthening the business environment, Muhyiddin said the government through the Special Task Force on Business Facilitation (PEMUDAH) is committed in ensuring that agile regulations were implemented to encourage reinvestment of domestic businesses.

He said it included the expansion of the national Authorised Economic Operator program which provided a green route to eligible companies for export and import business as well as shortening the processing time for investment applications.
