Police finalising investigation on Dr Mahathir

Police are in the midst of completing investigation on Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad's alleged slander posted in his blog early this month.

Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Noor Rashid Ibrahim said when the investigation on the former prime minister was completed, it would be referred to the deputy public prosecutor for further action.

"We will study and complete the investigation before handing it over to the DPP," he told reporters after launching the Round Table on Root Cause of Crime organised by the Malaysian Crime Prevention Foundation (MCPF), here, today.

On Feb 24, police recorded a statement from Dr Mahathir concerning the posting in his blog 'Che Det' on Feb 5 which was alleged to be slanderous.
