Reknowned sports commentator, Hasbullah Awang laid to rest

The country's reknowned sports commentator, late Datuk Hasbullah Awang was laid to rest at the Kota Kemuning Muslim Cemetary at 6.10 pm today.
63-year-old Hasbullah died at the National Heart Institute due to heart complications this afternoon.
His body arrived at the Himmatul Aliyah Seksyen 23 Shah Alam Mosque at 4.50pm.
The funeral prayer was led by his friend and fellow sports commentator, Zainal Abidin Rauf.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak characterised his demise as a big loss for the sports fans of the country.

Meanwhile, Football Association Malaysia (FAM) president, Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah said it will be tough to replace a talented commentator such as Hasbullah.
Tengku Abdullah who was met espressed his sadness and hopes that the legacy left by Hasbullah will be followed by the younger generation.
Youth and Sports minister, Khairy Jamaluddin in his tweet, also espressed his sadness on the passing of a man whom he characterised as ‘Malaysia’s voice of sports’.

Hasbullah left behind his wife Datin Hazida Alang Ahmad, 58, apart from four children and seven grandchildren.
