Rumours of petrol and diesel price increase flood social media

A lot of rumors regarding the next month petrol prices became a hot topic on social sites.

As any month comes to an end, rumors begin circulating on social media on the expected new petrol price.

With petrol and diesel subsidies abolished by the government in December last year, the new petrol price always becomes a hot topic.

During the past few days, many netizens have gone on various social media sites such as WhatsApp, Facebook and Twitter to voice their hope that rumours of a possible fuel increase in May is not true.

Many are predicting that the prices will increase as the petrol price for the month of April remained the same as in March.

In April RON95 and diesel were sold at RM1.95 a litre and RON97 at RM2.25 a litre.

The new price for RON95, RON97 and diesel for May 2015 will be announced by the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumer Affairs (KPDNKK) tonight.
