Rural Ministry graft probe: What we know so far

The probe into a graft and abuse of power involving a senior official of a ministry became the main headlines of #HariIni8 since news about his arrest broke last Thursday.
Below are what we know so far:
Who is being investigated by MACC?
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on Thursday arrested the secretary-general Rural and Regional Development Ministry and his sons, aged 29 and 34. They are being remand for seven days since last Thursday.
MACC also had summoned the contractor and vendor allegedly responsible in awarding a certain project while the suspects were holding the position to assist investigations.

A probe into alleged corruption, abuse of power and illegal money trading.

How long did the suspect serve as sec-gen at KKLW?
The suspect was appointed the Ministry’s sec-gen on Oct 16, 2015 and it is understood that the suspect is also a board member of a government-linked company (GLC).
Suspect had worked as sec-gen at the Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-based Industries as deputy sec-gen and State finance officer.

How much was seized during the arrest?
MACC seized RM550,000 in cash, gold nuggets, 150 designer handbags, branded watches and foreign currencies worth RM3 million.
At present, MACC had learnt that the suspect owned 10 plots of lands worth millions of ringgit around the Klang Valley.
A unit of MPV model Toyota Estima owned by the suspect’s son had been seized during the arrest.
