Stop politicising, focus on what's best for country - Fadillah
Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof today rapped certain quarters who were keen on politicising things while the country is still striving to win the fight against COVID-19 pandemic.
Senior Minister of Works Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof today rapped certain quarters who were keen on politicising things while the country is still striving to win the fight against COVID-19 pandemic under this Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO).
"Those who want to play politics, please take a break. Now is not a suitable time, it is time for us to work and think about what's best for the country to overcome the current crisis we are facing.
"We have to stay united so that the burden will get lighter. Let's work together to face this challenge and make Sarawak and Malaysia more harmony and prosperous," he said in his speech at the Merdeka@Komuniti 2020 programme in Petra Jaya in conjunction with the National Month celebration here, today.
It is believed that Fadillah's statement came in response to the recent incident in which Sarawak DAP Socialist Youth (DAPSY) members were found to have put up Chinese language stickers on several road signs in the city, claiming that it was to assist tourists from China.
The action led by former Stampin MP Julian Tan went viral on social media and received criticism from netizens who disagreed with their move.
Meanwhile, some 100 residents of Lorong Piala 3, Taman Sukma took part in today's programme organised by the Information Department.
Merdeka@Komuniti is an initiative under the Communications and Multimedia Ministry through the Information Department which aimed at igniting the spirit of patriotism and love for the country.
