Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob reiterated that the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) from Wednesday was still subject to the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 (Act 342) despite the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) coming to an end.

In fact, he said, whatever actions of the government was to ensure the safety and health of all.

He made this statement following comments from netizens who expected him to come up with all kinds of restrictions despite the good news announced by the Prime Minister yesterday.

"I read the comments from netizens saying that even though "Abah" (Muhyiddin) had announced something of good news, they were confident that "Pak Long Mail" (referring to himself) would follow up with restrictions.

"Perhaps this evening, "Pak Ngah Hisham" (Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah) will do the same. What is to be done is to safeguard the safety and health of all our people.

"So, even if we give some flexibility, and that CMCO is coming to an end, the RMCO is still subject to Act 342," he said at a press conference here today.
