Three weak quakes hit Sabah

Three weak earthquakes hit Sabah today, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department.
The first quake, of 2.8 magnitude, occurred at 10.08am; the second, of 1.9 magnitude, occurred at 1.24pm and the third, of 2.1 magnitude, occurred at 3.30pm, it said in a statement.
The epicentre of the first quake was 25 kilometres northwest of Ranau town; the second, 16 kilometres southwest of the town and the third, 24 kilometres northeast of Tambunan, it added.
Tremors were felt in Ranau, the department said.
An earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale struck the Ranau and surrounding areas on June 5, claiming 18 lives.
