Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) acting president Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili has advised voters here not to waste their time and gamble their future away by voting the opposition in the coming general election.
In his policy speech at the PBS Tandek 32nd Annual General Meeting held in the Kota Marudu Community Hall, he also reminded the delegates to stick with the party and Barisan Nasional (BN) which had proven itself through its good track record in governing the country.
"I must admit that Barisan Nasional has its flaws, it is not perfect, but the coalition is still the best option for Malaysians in Sabah. BN has its visions and goals, which by and large have not been achieved 100 per cent, but efforts are taking place to ensure the wishes are ," said Ongkili, who is also .
The energy, green technology and water minister stressed that BN had brought development to the country, including Kota Marudu, and the physical changes were obvious as compared to a decade ago.
"Of course, there is room for improvement, but at least we see development taking place. Unlike the opposition which only talks, (but) no action. They are repeating what PBS has been fighting for since our inception 32 years ago, that is, illegal immigrants, Malaysia Agreement 1963, Sabahans and Sabah rights, Borneonisation, to mention some. These will take time, nothing can be done overnight.
Plus, most of the opposition leaders high posts in the government, from federal ministers to deputy ministers, chief minister, among others, but still they failed to solve anything. What more now after leaving the coalition? They have no direction," said Ongkili.
