A woman was allegedly forced to wear a sarong before she was allowed to enter the premises of the Road Transport Department (JPJ) in Wangsa Maju, recently.
The woman known as Suzanne G. L. Tan has expressed her displeasure on Facebook on Monday.
Tan in the post said, she had visited the JPJ office to sign a transfer form for a car that she had sold.
However, she was approached by a JPJ officer behind the numbers counter who told her that her outfit was inappropriate for an official affair.
Tan was wearing a pink-and-white top with a red skirt before she was given the sarong to wear at the JPJ office. Photo source: Tan’s Facebook.
Later, Tan posted three images of her at JPJ on her Facebook. The first image was taken outside the premises, minutes before she was made to don the sarong. The other two photos were taken while she was in the building, while she was busy conducting her affairs.
Tan, however did not mention when exactly the incident took place.
Meanwhile, the RTD in a Twitter post has cautioned visitors, that they should adhere to the the dress code and that visitors entering the government’s official building are reminded to wear appropriate clothings
