WSJ report: 'If valid why not reveal source?'- Rahman Dahlan

Minister of Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan via Twitter today criticised a report by Wall Street Journal (WSJ) which claimed that a total of RM700 million was channeled to several private accounts owned by Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

“By quoting ‘an unnamed investigator’ as the base of a defamatory report, AWSJ has sunk to the level of gutter journalism of Sarawak Report.

“Hopefully, AWSJ does not use modified documents in their report as this will be a sad day for the world of journalism.

“I am shocked with the claims. If they are serious about its authenticity, the report should name its source,” said Rahman on his Twitter account.

Meanwhile, Abdul Rahman also received a tweet from a netizen with the twitter handle @CaptRahmat, which stated that WSJ’s source was from Sarawak Report.

1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) today also denied channeling any funds to the premier’s bank accounts.

“Referring to a media report earlier today, 1MDB would like to explain that the company has never channeled any funds to the prime minister,” stated the statement.

The statement was released following a report by Wall Street Journal and Sarawak Report today which claimed that upon investigation over the company, it was revealed that billions of ringgit had been channeled to several private accounts owned by Najib.
