The recent visit to Kelantan by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and his deputy Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi is not a sign that the 14th general election (GE14) is nearing.
Kelantan UMNO deputy chief Datuk Ahmad Jazlan Yaakob, said the top leaders' visit just proves that the state of Kelantan was never sidelined.
He also stressed that Kelantan UMNO is ready for GE14, whenever it is called.
"The GE is expected to be announced in May 2018. But, we would like to stress here that if it is going to be held earlier, we are ready. We believe the GE this time will be even tougher than the previous one," he said.
Ahmad Jazlan, who is also Deputy Rural and Regional Development Minister, said Kelantan was one of the states which are most cared for by Barisan Nasional as compared to some others.
He said this was proven with the development of highways, road projects, hospitals, universities and other infrastructure in the state.
