UMNO supreme council member, Tan Sri Annuar Musa, has called on Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders to end the polemics on Cabinet appointments announced by Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

Annuar, who is also MP for Ketereh, through his personal Twitter account, has instead called on all leaders from his party to focus and support the government's efforts to address the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Enough with the polemics on the Cabinet appointments of Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin,” he said.

Annuar, who was appointed Federal Territories Minister in the new government, added, "BN leaders should focus on efforts in defending the people as well as providing support to the Prime Minister and the government for us to work together to address the COVID-19 outbreak, economic hardships, and create harmony among the people for the prosperity of the country."

The issue of what is regarded as unfair allocation of Cabinet positions to UMNO, was raised by several UMNO leaders, including the party's deputy president, Datuk Seri Mohamad Hassan, vice-president Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, MP for Pengerang, Datuk Seri Azalina Othman, and MP for Kinabatangan, Datuk Bung Moktar Radin.
