Malaysia can produce world class tennis players if more local tourneys held

Malaysia's own Rafael Nadal or players akin to the Williams siblings can be further nurtured if more local tournaments are organised, said TennisMalaysia Vice-Chairman Rahizam Abd Rahim.
He said tournaments such as Mamee TennisMalaysia Junior Tour 2014 can be a platform to scout for new talents who can be moulded to become future renowned tennis players like Nadal or the Williams sisters.
"This junior tour will enable us to find players who can stamp themselves in the international arena," he told reporters when met at the seventh leg of the junior tour which kicked-off at the Johor Tennis Academy, here Thursday.
A total 155 young players are participating in the three-day event including one from Singapore and one from Japan.
The eighth leg will be held in Miri, Sarawak from Nov 6-9.
