CGTN reported the incident happened when the woman was visiting Ruili Jiegao Jade Market in Yunnan province, on Tuesday.
"She had a panic attack when she was told how much the bracelet worth, but she didn't have any other medical problems," the son of the storeowner told local media.
The value of the bracelet was verified by a certificate authorized by Ruili Gem and Jade Association, and supported by Ruili Administration for Industry and Commerce.
The case has sparked debates on China's social media, especially Weibo. Netizens questioned why luxurious goods are sold in an open market such as Ruili.
The store is reportedly in discussion with the woman on how she could pay for the damage.
