'The Revenant' dahului pencalonan Anugerah Akademi ke-88
Pengumuman pencalonan Anugerah Akademi ke-88 dibuat di Beverly Hills pada Khamis.
Musim anugerah Hollywood terus hangat dengan pengumuman pencalonan Anugerah Akademi ke-88.
The Revenant mendahului senarai dengan 12 pencalonan, termasuk kategori filem terbaik, pelakon terbaik dan pengarah terbaik.
Ia dibintangi pelakon Leonardo DiCaprio yang sebelum ini memenangi Anugerah Golden Globe untuk kategori Pelakon Lelaki Terbaik.
Sementara itu, Kate Winslet - yang pernah berlakon bersama DiCaprio untuk filem Titanic - tercalon dalam kategori Pelakon Pembantu Wanita Terbaik untuk filem Steve Jobs.
Pengumuman dibuat pada Khamis di Beverly Hills oleh Presiden Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences Cheryl Boone Isaacs dan pengarah Guillermo Del Toro, Ang Lee dan John Krasinski.
Anugerah Oscar akan berlangsung pada 28 Februari di Dolby Theater.
Chris Rock kembali sebagai hos, setelah menjadi hos buat kali pertama pada 2005.
