No corruption!
That is the mantra of Mydin Holdings managing director, Datuk Ameer Ali Mydin, who does not tolerate such things in his mammoth hypermarket chain.
"It's just not halal. You cannot be giving money and taking money. We take it so seriously," he told AWANI Review in an exclusive interview.
Ameer Ali says it needs to be instilled in people that corruption should not be condoned in any sphere.
He says there are those who believe it's okay to steal, just as long as they pray.
He also says it is crucial for us to be taught the right value system, both at home and in schools.
Ameer Ali adds that the issue of corruption in Malaysia cannot be swept under the carpet anymore, as the country's ranking on global corruption perception index is at stake.
