Legenda skrin terkenal bagi peranan penjahat dalam produksi filem-filem Hammer Horror, Lord of the Rings dan Star Wars, Christopherdilapor meninggal dunia pada usia 93 di Hospital Chelsea dan Westminster selepas mengalami masalah pernafasan dan kegagalan jantung pada 7 Jun 2015.

Memetik laporan The Guardian, isterinya yang juga merupakan bekas model Denmark, Birgit Kroencke, bertindak untuk menyembunyikan berita itu untuk beberapa jam daripada pihak media sehingga semua ahli keluarga dan rakan-rakannya dimaklumkan.

Pasangan itu dikatakan telah berkahwin selama lebih dari 50 tahun dan mempunyai seorang anak perempuan bernama Christina.
