Abdul Hadi single-handedly killed Pakatan Rakyat - Lim Kit Siang
DAP leader Lim Kit Siang said it was PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang who had single-handedly killed the Pakatan Rakyat pact.
DAP leader Lim Kit Siang said it was PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang who had single-handedly killed the Pakatan Rakyat pact.
He said Abdul Hadi also failed tohonour undertakings he made at the PR Leadership Council.
"But I find it strange that Hadi is claiming that Pakatan Rakyat is not dead when for the past year he had singly destroyed Pakatan Rakyat by violating the PR Common Policy Framework as well as the PR consensus operational principle, the two pillars governing the success of the PR in the 13th General Elections and without which there could be no PR," he said in a press statement today.
As a result of that, he said, the Pakatan Rakyat Leadership Council has not been able to function for the past year, resulting in PRexisting only in name but not in fact.
"Hadi either refused to attend the PR Leadership Council meeting or vetoed the decision taken by the PR LeadershipCouncil which he did not attend but arrived after consensus was reached by the leadership from the three parties, or even worse, undertakings made by Hadi at the PR Leadership Council but which he subsequently refused to honour !," he further said.
On Friday, Abdul Hadi said the PR was not dead, as declared by the DAP.
Lim said he was also not interested in the PAS leaders' interpretations of the PAS Muktamar's decision to pass a motion without debate to sever all ties with DAP.
"As the new PAS leadership seems to be at loggerheads with each other as to whether the PAS Muktamar motion has led to the dissolution of Pakatan Rakyat, I have no interest of intervening in their different interpretations," he said.
Following PAS's decision to pass the motion, DAP announced that the pact had ceased to exist.
DAP had earlier blamed Abdul Hadi's insistence onhudud bills for the failure for the pact to function.
