Agong's sister passed away

Tunku Hamidah Almarhum Sultan Badlishah, 90, sister of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah passed away at 11.50am today.

Kedah Sultan secretary-general Datuk Paduka Syed Unan Mashri Syed Abdullah in a statement said Tunku Hamidah died at Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital (HSB) here due to old age.

In extending condolences to the royal family, he said, Tunku Hamidah would be buried at the Langgar Royal Mausoleum at 10am tomorrow.

The remains of Tunku Hamidah were taken to the Istana Anak Bukit for a ceremony to pay last respects between 3pm and 7pm today.
