Hyundai’s Good Design awards sweepstake

The Good Design awards’ international jury of design professionals, architects, experts and cultural leaders got together in New York in November 2015 to select their favourite designs and graphics once again and awarded Hyundai Motor with not one or two but five Good Design awards!
Developed by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design, and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, the annual awards program recognises the most innovative and cutting-edge industrial, product and graphic designs from around the world. And among the thousands of applicants Hyundai Motor had stood out for its product and design approach.
Hyundai Motor’s soon-to-be launch IONIQ hybrid vehicle was recognised for its class-leading aerodynamics and striking design details thanks to the design shaped around the Visual Aero design concept. The All-new Tucson received another award thanks to its strong proportions and its sleek and agile profile.
The newly launched Elantra also received an award for its showcase of the evolving design direction being adopted for all future Hyundai compact cars. Another vehicle that received an award is the Santa Cruz concept truck which Hyundai Motor introduced at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
Last but not least, Hyundai Motor’s design philosophy is realized in innovative ways through the Sculpture in Motion project which earned its very own Good Design award.
“Being recognized as five-time winners in the GOOD DESIGN Awards strengthens Hyundai Motor’s position as an automotive design leader - not only for traditional combustion-engine vehicles, but also for eco-friendly vehicles and ambitious design concepts,” said Byung-Seob Lee, Senior Vice President and Head of the Hyundai Design Center.
Hyundai will be launching the Hyundai IONIQ to the world come January 14, 2016. Stay tuned to find out how the Prius competitor will measure up!
