Kelana Jaya LRT delay: Severe disruptions following technical glitches

The Kelana Jaya LRT line faced technical glitches close to three hours delaying its train services from the Kelana Jaya to Gombak route.
KL commuters had been left in limbo after the Kelana Jaya LRT line experienced a three-hour service disruptions Saturday due to technical glitches in the train's automatic control system.
The city-bound train was halted starting 2.30pm causing some 30 passengers at the Taman Bahagia station forcing some of them to cancel their weekend plans.
For 27-year-old architect, Ahmad Syahmi Shakirin, who is a frequent user of the LRT said he had to cancel his plan to return to his hometown in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan due to the delay.
"I would have to return home (in PJ), as I don't know how long more I'm required to wait. I reached here at about 3pm. Initially, the station personnel confirmed that by 3.45pm, the services should resume but until 4.30pm, train is still halted.
Ahmad Syahmi said, he would not waste his time waiting for the train and had planned to return to Nilai next week instead.

Those who were at the stations were informed to use other alternatives to get to their respective destinations as the service was being overhauled.
Initially, it was announced at the Taman Bahagia LRT station that the technical problem would be resolved and trains would start operating at 4.30pm although the problem took even longer to be resolved.
RapidKL tweeted, “KJ Line update: We are currently rebooting our signalling system. Trains will be held longer at platform. Sorry for the inconvenience.”
Many were stranded for close to three hours due to the disruption that was caused by a technical glitch in the train's automatic control system.

For Noorzalikha Anuar, 23 who was among the many commuters stranded, said she had no any other options other than to wait until the LRT services resumed.
"LRT is one of the options that I always find safe and convenient to travel. I would rather wait instead of spending hundreds out of my pocket to take the taxi," said the assistant pharmacist, who hails from Alor Setar, Kedah..
The service resumed at approximately 5.38pm.
