The recently formed Pakatan Harapan should have taken a more inclusive approach, according to certain quarters in PKR.

An inside party source told Astro AWANI that several personalities in the party believed the new opposition coalition was 'hastily-formed'.

"This has seriously put us on the wrong foot at the start of the battle as we could have been more inclusive," said the source.

According to him, other parties and non-government organisations (NGOs) should have been consulted first before the pact was made official.

"Instead of strategically positioning the pact for the next General Elections, Pakatan Harapan was instead formed quickly just to spite PAS," added the source.

He also revealed that certain groups within the party have voiced their concerns on how the party's top echelons, especially the Secretary-General Rafizi Ramli run things in the party.

Pakatan Harapan, which was launched a fortnight ago, consist of DAP, PKR and the PAS' splinter party Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah).

It was announced by opposition leader Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail after the meeting on September 22 , as the new pact to replace Pakatan Rakyat which was dissolved in June following irreconcilable differences between DAP and PAS.

When asked to comment on an online report that there may be a 'breakaway' group within the party planning to form another splinter party, the source said that although there are dissent within the party, it has not warrant the formation of another party.

"We at PKR are still committed towards working within the Pakatan framework and we will continue the struggle to win Putrajaya," said the source.

A report on Free Malaysia Today yesterday stated that a 'third political coalition may be in the making' as several dissidents within PKR were preparing to register a new party.

The report quoted a politician who requested anonymity.

It is also stated that the new 'multi-racial' party could be launched by the end of the year.
