The issue of whether our working environment is suitable for married women and to raise families have been discussed widely.
Recently, TalentCorp Malaysia CEO, Johan Merican had said that the working environment in Malaysia must be more conducive to attract more women to retain their jobs.
Quoting a report by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in 2013, Johan said the majority of corporations in Malaysia do not offer family-friendly policies.
A report by the Malaysia Human Development 2013 also found that most women quit their jobs to take care of their children. Other reasons include marriages, supporting husbands' careers and other family-related reasons.
Although the government had offered incentives to encourage employers to set up nurseries at the workplace, the response has been low due to space constraints.
