Former Deputy Prime Minister, Tun Musa Hitam said he took 15 years to release his new book, Frankly Speaking which was launched on August 10.

He said the book was written after various attempts.

“I was thinking, thinking and thinking. I tried three times, to be frank. First time, didn’t work out, second time didn’t work out either.

“It is my fault. I was not focused, I was too busy,” he said.

Musa said he did not realise how important it was for him to pen down.

“At last I did it. I spent quite a lot time, and Alhamdulillah it is out now,” he said this in an exclusive interview on the Obviously Harith Iskander (OHI) show on Astro AWANI on Saturday.

When the host Harith asked him on the book's controversial content, Musa said the reason he wrote the book is to ensure the next generation understood history and aware of it.

“The usefulness of history is for you to be informed of what happened in the past, to use it as a basic of experience in the past - the good ones need to be practiced and the bad ones need to be avoided," he explained.
