The Terengganu state government has allocated RM20 million to see the Terengganu Football Association start winning titles in the M-League.

State Youth & Sports and Human Resources committee chairman Datuk Rozi Mamat said the state government's hope should also serve as a 'message' for the Terengganu football team to win at least one trophy.

"We noticed that Terengganu had failed on numerous occasions to emulate the success of winning the Malaysia Cup in 2001," he told reporters here today.

Rozi said the Terengganu FA had appealed for RM20 million from the state government to manage the Terengganu state team and club side T-Team in the M-League competition.

He said the FA must be responsible and improve its performance to avoid the allocation being withdrawn next year.

Rozi said Terengganu Inn may also become one of the main sponsor for the Terengganu M-League team this season but the amount of sponsorship has yet to be decided or known.

He said the state has also set up a foundation to ensure all donations and sponsorship are managed well, including for cycling, football, hockey, endurance and others.

Rozi said the foundation would be launched by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Razif Abd Rahman soon.
