Malaysia's biggest Islamic cooperative bank has entered into cooperation with Proton Holdings Bhd to offer 100 percent financing facilities for the purchase of Proton cars, including the newly launched Proton Perdana.

Bank Rakyat chairman Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Zainal said the offer would be open at all times to employees in both the public and private sectors who met the loan conditions.

"Bank Rakyat always gives priority to customer needs and, as an incentive to help the people own local products, we come up with this offer," he told reporters after a flagging off a motorcade of new Proton Perdana here yesterday.

The flagging off was held in line with the Bank Rakyat Hari Raya Campaign promotion offering the i-Vehicle Financing and other auto products with offers of cash prizes up to RM400,000.

Also held during the ceremony, was a bubur lambuk stirring programme to enliven the Ramadan celebration and boost ties with the local community.

"About 5,000 packets of porridge will be distributed at several locations of public focus such as KL Sentral, LRT Bangsar Station, Bangsar Mosque and others from 3pm (Thursday)," he added.
