Baron Group which runs a network of hotels and chalets is increasing its number of rooms in preparation for the presence of tourists at the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA 2013) and Visit Malaysia Year 2014 (VMY 2014).

Its Chairman Abd Manaf Majid said 195 new rooms were being built at the Cenang Beach at a cost of RM20 million and expected to be ready for LIMA 2013 in March.

He expressed confidence that construction of the new rooms will be able to cater for the anticipated rise in demand from the LIMA 2013 and VMY 2014.

"Baron Group has targeted to achieve 1,000 rooms over the next three years. It has at present 600 hotel and chalet rooms at Cenang Beach and Kuah," he said.

On the VMY 2014, he said the tourism industry had good potential to improve the income of players in it, including that of service providers.

"Tourism entrepreneurs need to be ready to provide the best in welcoming the anticipated increase in the number of tourists from both overseas and at home," he added.
