A sex offender was arrested after writing a letter to the Home Secretary asking her to legalise sexual interaction with children (paedophilia).

Phillip Kirk was arrested a few weeks after writing the 'request' to Theresa May, reported The Independent.

“I have been a paedophile since the age of 13 and openly a paedophile for the last three years,” Kirk wrote in the letter.

The portal said the 22-year-old Kirk was recently released from jail for other offenses including stealing physical education kit from school changing room.

Authorities found more than 1,000 pornographic images involving children while raiding his home in York. Kirk was also discovered to have searched local girl groups besides child murder.

Judge Stephen Ashurst during sentencing described the letter sent by Kirk as ‘deluded and dangerous’.

“It is clear you have a very unhealthy interest in children and despite all your recent experiences, nothing it seems deters you from offending” said Judge Ashurst.

Kirk pleaded guilty to all 21 counts of downloading pornographic images of children and sentenced to four years in prison with another four years on probation.

He was also registered in the list of sex offenders for life and prohibited within a 100-meter from schools and public places visited by the youth.
