US rapper 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, has filed for bankruptcy, according to Sky News. The rapper has listed his assets and debts each in the range of $10 million to $50 million.

The star filed court papers with the US Bankruptcy Court in Hartford, Connecticut on Monday, and will be seeking chapter 11 protection.

The news comes just days after a jury ordered Jackson to pay $5 million to a woman who had sued him over a sex tape that was posted without her consent. Two months prior, the rapper's boxing promotions company, SMS Promotions, filed for bankruptcy.

Jackson's bankruptcy claims come after the rapper made $100 million in investments in Vitaminwater in 2007.

His 2003 album, Get Rich or Die Tryin', was nominated for a Grammy Music Award for Best Rap Album and was ranked number 37 on Rolling Stone's list of the 100 best albums from the 2000s.
