SINGER Rihanna has cancelled her concert in Nice following an attack in the city on Thursday night (July 14).

The songstress, who was due to perform at the Allianz Stadium today (July 15), confirmed via her Instagram account that the concert would not be going ahead in the wake of the tragic events which unfolded in Nice last night, and paid tributes to "the victims and their families" (via NME).

She wrote: "Due to the tragic events in #Nice, my concert scheduled for tomorrow July 15 at Allianz Stadium will not be going ahead as planned. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families".

Last night, on the celebration of Bastille Day in Nice, a truck ploughed into a crowd watching fireworks in the southern city, killing at least 84 people and leaving many others injured.
