It is up to Datuk Seri Najib Razak to take legal actions against slanderous criticisms by irresponsible quarters linking him to the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) fiasco, said People Progressive Party’s (MyPPP) President Tan Sri M.Kayveas.

Kayveas said it is more crucial to move forward and focus on the country's development agenda.

“It’s up to him if he decides to sue them. I think it is wiser for him to not waste time," said Kayveas after commemorating the party’s 63rd anniversary, here on Sunday.

Najib faces harsh criticisms from veteran politicians including Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad and Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, alleging him of misconduct and abuse of power.

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on Apr 7 tabled its report at the Parliament which included five recommendations, among others advising the debt-ridden company to abolish its advisory board, which headed by Najib.

PAC instead suggested that 1MDB should change all references to the Prime Minister to Finance Minister.
