Sharipah Saadah Mohamed, the Malaysian government pensioner who went into a coma following hypertension while visiting Turkey, died today.

This was confirmed by her younger sister, Jawahiril Kamariah Mohamed, 55, when contacted by Bernama.

She said Sharipah Saadah, 57, died at about 8.30am (Malaysian time) at a hospital in Bursa.

"The family decided to have her buried in Turkey," she said.

Jawahiril Kamariah said three of Sharipah Saadah's children arrived in Turkey yesterday.

Sharipah Saadah, a mother of five, was reportedly admitted to hospital following hypertension that led to brain haemorrhage on Dec 16.

She had been in Turkey on holiday with her husband, Haron Mohd Salleh.
