A couple operating a beauty salon was robbed of RM20,000 cash by two men who also took off in their BMW X4 car in Taman Melaka Raya, Monday.

Melaka Tengah Police chief ACP Shaikh Abdul Adzis Shaikh Abdullah said the couple, in their 30s, was initially approached by a man while parking their car at the rear of their business premises.

"The victims alleged the suspect got into their car and brandished a weapon at them and forced them to follow a car in front. The suspect then took RM20,000 cash from the couple.

"The couple was later abandoned by the roadside in Semabok before the suspects, wearing masks and dark glasses, fled in their (victims') vehicle," he told reporters here today.

The victims lodged a report at the Banda Hilir police station after getting help from their friends.

Shaik Abdul Adzis urged members of the public with information on the incident to come forward and assist the police.
