KUALA LUMPUR: It is important for the National Vaccination Programme to be coordinated by a single Ministry or agency to reduce the risk of miscommunication.

Former Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad said be that as it may, it is now very important to ensure that the Government has an effective communication strategy to tackle this mammoth task.

“While it is well intended, there is a conflict in communication when it comes to details. If you ask me, it (National Vaccination Plan) would have been better under the Public Health Division of the Ministry of Health.

“We must recognise that MOH has the technical know-how, experience and expertise in this.

“Be that as it may, it has been arranged this way. Perhaps, Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) as the new kid on the block can ensure there is an effective communication strategy. I could see the Minister (Khairy Jamaluddin) is doing his level best,” said Dr Dzulkefly in Consider This on Monday night.
