The DAP disciplinary committee has sacked three of its members for making wild accusations against the party.

In confirming the matter, committee chairman Tan Kok Wai said the trio are Ladang Paroi vice-chairman David Dass Aseerpatham, Desa Dahlia branch chairman Richard Francis Soosay and Desa Dahlia branch secretary Karthiyaini Selvaraj.

Tan said the termination came into effect on Tuesday.

“The trio were sacked for making wild and baseless accusations against the party and unfounded claims about illegal voters at the 2012 Party Congress.

“The actions of the three have tarnished the party's reputation and constitute a severe breach of discipline,” Tan said in a statement today.

Tan, however said, the trio can appeal against the party’s decision if they want to.

“Pursuant to Clause VII paragraph 3 of the party's constitution, all three have fourteen days from the date of their termination letters, to appeal in writing against the decision to the Party Central Executive Committee (CEC),” he said.

Prior to this, David claimed that the 500 delegates from Penang who casted their votes at the CEC election in Penang last December may be illegal voters.

He had also lodged reports with the Registrar of Societies (RoS) over the allegations of manipulation of the party’s election results.

On Monday, Soosay had said that his branch has failed to receive notice from DAP to convene their branch annual general meetings (AGMs).
