A man who was remanded under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, was found dead in a lock-up at the Dang Wangi police headquarters here early Thursday.

Kuala Lumpur CID chief Datuk Ku Chin Wah said the Kuala Lumpur Hospital classified it as 'sudden death'.

He said the 51-year-old, who was remanded four days ago, had a history of asthma affliction.

Ku said, one of nine detainees at the lock-up realised the man was dead and alerted the police at 12.15am.

He was speaking to reporters after attending the launch of Customer Satisfaction Survey SMS at the police headquarters here.
