Four men and a woman who were reported to be missing in Gunung Datuk near here early Saturday, were found this afternoon.

Rembau Fire and Rescue Department operation officer, Abdul Halim Abdul Malik said all the five individuals, aged between 20 and 22, had begun climbing the mountain at 5.15am and were reported to be missing from 8.08am.

"All the victims were found safe about 300m from the foothills of the mountain at 1.03pm by the search and rescue team.

"None of them sustain any injuries and were allowed to return to their homes after they rested," he said when contacted by Bernama here.

Meanwhile, he said it was believed another seven men in their 20's were also reported missing in the mountain.

"The operation to search and rescue these victims is still ongoing and it is believed that they are about 1.5km from the mountain edge and are expected to be found within three to four hours," he said.

It is understood that these seven individuals had started climbing the mountain before the other five, he said.
