A villager stumbled on a highly-decomposed body of a girl in Sungai Perias, about 500 metres from the Pos Tohoi Wednesday night.

Gua Musang police chief, Supt Saiful Bahri Abdullah said in the 7pm incident, the victim's foot was trapped in a tree branch in the river.

He said a team of villagers spent about 30 minutes to extricate the body which was sent to the Gua Musang Hospital.

The police could not confirm if the body was that of one of seven SK Tohoi pupils reported missing from their hostel since Aug 23.

"On Thursday, we will use boats to launch a massive operation along Sungai Perias near Pos Tohoi, right up to Sungai Nenggiri near Pos Pulat to look for the missing pupils.

"We still have many rescuers, including the Senoi Praaq (General Operations Force) camped at Pos Tohoi," he said at the hospital here.
