The acting Sultan of Pahang Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah calls on all Muslims to hold a hajat prayer (a prayer of need) for the release of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem from the Israeli regime's army.

He said the closure of the Al-Aqsa Mosque had become a sign which is worrying to all Muslims around the world.

"I want to invite all of us to perform the hajat prayer. We have read, and also seen on television of the situation besetting the Al-Aqsa Mosque which is now being held by the soldiers of the Zionist regime," he said at the Ministry of Human Resources Aidilfitri gathering here today.

Recently, he said the Friday prayers could not be held at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, the first time in 200 years.

Therefore, Abdullah called on Muslims to together seek Allah's divine intervention to save the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

He said the care of the Al-Aqsa Mosque was a common responsibility for all Muslims.

Meanwhile, Pahang Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MUIP) deputy president Datuk Seri Abdul Wahid Wan Hassan said Pahang Mufti Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Osman had been informed of Tengku Abdullah's dictate for the Pahang Islamic Religious Department to more than 600 mosques statewide.
