Suruhanjaya Pencegahan Rasuah Malaysia (SPRM) pada Rabu mendedahkan sebuah rakaman audio dipercayai perbualan antara bekas Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak dengan Putera Mahkota Emiriah Arab Bersatu (UAE), Sheikh Mohammed Zayed Al Nahyan.

Berikut sedutan rakaman yang dipercayai berlangsung pada 22 Julai 2016:

HRH: Mr Prime Minister, how are you sir?

NAJIB: I'm delighted to speak with you, Your Highness. I'm well, Alhamdullilah, and I hope you and your family, they are well?

HRH: Everybody is just well, Mr Prime Minister. How is the family there?

NAJIB: Good, family is well here. Of course we are experiencing a bit of a dark cloud as a result of yesterday's announcement by the Department of Justice.

That's why, Your Highness, it's important for us to resolve this impasse with respect to 1MDB and IPIC as soon as possible, so that we put a closure as soon as possible.

But that's embarrassing to both countries, embarrassing Malaysia and embarrassing UAE as well.

You know, and the personalities who are close to you.

So I wish that we can find a solution as soon as possible.

But it's difficult for me to talk to you on the phone.

Would it be possible for us to meet as soon as possible so that we can work this out?


HRH: Mr Prime Minister, it would be fine with me. The only catch is I'm travelling with Sheikh Khalifa.

He's in medical treatment now, he has to go for a check up for about five days.

I’m going to see him after tomorrow and stay with him. But is it okay after that?

NAJIB: Where will Your Highness be?

HRH: I will be home in about seven to eight days here.

NAJIB: Seven to eight days.... hmmm.

HRH: If you think this is too late, then I can arrange something else.

I can get Khaldoon talk to you wherever you are a bit earlier (tidak kedengaran) and sit with you and talk about it.

He is somebody that I trust completely, Mr Prime Minister.

NAJIB: Yes. Your Highness will be... Where will Your Highness be on Sunday?

HRH: I will be leaving with Sheikh Khalifa (tidak kedengaran).

NAJIB: You're leaving what time on Sunday?

HRH: I'm not sure… I’m not sure. Not in the morning.

NAJIB: Not in the morning? Would it be possible if I were to meet you on Sunday morning?

HRH: I'm convinced, yeah, I'm convinced, yeah.

NAJIB: I'll fly over on Saturday and then be with you on Sunday morning.

Then after our discussion, Your Highness, you know, you can proceed with your trip. This is very urgent actually.

If we do not resolve this, the matter could escalate, you know.

HRH: Okay, can I call you back in about two hours?

NAJIB: Okay, sure, you call me say 11:30 our time. It's just about two and a half hours' time. Is it possible?

HRH: Yeah, yeah, definitely, definitely. I'll call you, I'll call you back.

NAJIB: Okay, good, thank you.
