MCA is urging the Ikatan Muslimin Malaysia (ISMA) president, Abdullah Zaik Abd Rahman to stop twisting historical facts and continuously making racist remarks.

MCA publicity bureau chairman Chai Kim Sen said the remarks made by ISMA will only turn the nation into a laughing stock in the eyes of the international community after all these years of chieving independence.

“From time to time, we can see some ignorant extremists attempting to stir racial sentiment, such as calling the Chinese community "pendatang" (foreigners) and asking them to "return to China"," said Chai in a media statement to Astro AWANI.

He added that the statements made were ridiculous and insensitive.

"ISMA has zero ideas about the contribution of the Chinese community in nation building. They have even ignorantly rejected the fact that the Malays, Chinese and Indians had fought for the independence of Malaysia hand-in-hand and I wonder which ‘history’ ISMA are referring to,” said Chai.

ISMA’s action is also seen as jeopardising the country’s effort in promoting its multiracial, multireligious and multicultural society to the world.

On Tuesday, Abdullah Zaik in a statement said that the Chinese migrants brought in by the British to Tanah Melayu were ‘trespassers’ and questioned their citizenship and the wealth given to them.

“Who gave them the citizenship status and wealth? This was all the work of the British, who were in cahoots with the Chinese to oppress and bully Malays,” said Abdullah Zaik in a statement as reported on the group’s website.
